Well actually there are some new features, and I think Google has been
listening too the complaints in this forum.
For example colour printing is now available, the days in the print
view do include the date in the header,
and events spanning from evening beyond midnight are not shown as 2
day events anymore....

I agree that there is a lot more to do, as many others I am
desperately waiting for features like a ToDo list etc.
But I am willing to give the Google folks time to improve the service,
even as it is I find Gcal the best solution around...
